Al Sharpton and the Confederate Flag

Saturday, January 19, 2008 in My Opinions and Rantings (Views: 3583)
You know, Al Sharpton has the ability to get under my skin in really creative ways... There are times I see him on TV like O'Reilly and in a private forum, he seems a lot more logical when he isn't causing racial trouble.

For some reason, he decided to run a typical play out of his playbook and try to incite a riot taking a cheap shot at Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee of Arkansas. Now, of course, trying to incite a riot is routine for Sharpton, why attack a candidate in the south? One thing does make sense - in life, like football, if a play works, you keep running it until someone can stop it. So, stop Al Sharpton by simply ignoring him or pound his assenine theories into the ground as I am about to do.

I personally take offense to Al Sharpton's talking out of both sides of his mouth, although I am quite used to it.

You, Al, took a cheap shot at a sacred Southern symbol, the flag of the Confederate States of America. You have tried to make a racist issue of the bloodiest war in the history of our country. You, Al "The Hypocrite" Sharpton, continue to divide our country on race while promoting the "can't everyone just get along" crap that spews from that word hole of yours.

Why is the Confederate flag such an issue? Because he said is a symbol of racism - which it is not. It has been used in bad ways by the KKK and hate groups in the past. By that feeling, crosses were also used. So, all crosses are racist as well. I want all crosses to be removed from all churches. I am deeply offended by it.

One word of medical advice to you Al - if you take immodium orally to keep yourself from having "the runs", perhaps you should shove it up your ass to keep yourself from running out your mouth.

Why am I so pissed off? Too many great men died for that flag. Exactly the numbers from Time Life (these statictics are incomplete as the Confederacy did not have great record keeping)

Killed in action or mortally wounded

94,000

164,000

Total casualties, 1861 to 1865: 483,026

This (483,026) Al, is why I am pissed off at you. For cheapening the lives of nearly half a million men who served for the freedom of the Confederacy. The federals had a bad time in their own right...

Other types of non-battle deaths:

The numbers speak for themselves Al. The Confederate flag flies proudly here, in honor of the hundreds of thousands of lives that were taken in the Civil War.
