Windows XP: This is my end, my friend

Thursday, April 17, 2014 in Technical Articles (Views: 1495)
Well, I remember 2001 and this new OS known as XP. For those not familiar with it, XP stood for Experience. Windows XP was the Operating System that bridged the gap between Windows 9x/ME and Windows NT Workstation. For those who remember this far back, Windows 9x (95, 98, Me) was a consumer operating system, and Windows NT was built for business. When XP released, there was a Home and Professional version.

It's been said the default Windows background for Windows XP is one of, if not the most seen and recognizable picture.

For those wondering, no, your computer won't explode if you aren't running something newer. Just the odds of finding software written for Windows XP may dwindle before you know it, although it seems a lot of compilers are friendly with XP still.

But regardless, support has ended. This is the end, my friend, the end.
