Potentially Dangerous HTML Code in ASP.NET?

Saturday, April 23, 2016 in Technical Articles (Views: 1816)
In writing some code for the website, I came across an error that was quite something when submitting a form:

A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client

This is something that existed back in the .NET Framework 2.0 days, and is easy to avoid. This can be something simple, like someone pasting in HTML to an email or rather harmless code. The antivirus scanners of today are much more prepare to handle such things, anyway.

To resolve this, just add a validateRequest="false" in your page directive. This will allow you to continue.

Happy developing!
