Landover Baptist - The Cult

Wednesday, August 8, 2007 in My Opinions and Rantings (Views: 2670)
Last night, I was pretty worked up over this "Landover Baptist Church", and after reading through their website a little (and it was about all I could stomach), am convinced this is no more than a glorified cult. The fact Jerry Falwell died at 73 was a platform for them to say that he must have pissed God off.. I later found this whole website and "church" was nothing more than a glorified hoax by some that were pissed off with Christianity, but thought provoking, no less..

I could just get right to the point, this cult is about making money. It doesn't believe in any Biblical principles, exactly the opposite. To them, the unsaved is unwelcome, and unless you are a member of their church (and have to be in the proper standing), you are going to burn in hell.

Under "Our Beliefs" you will see that they are about money. It's not about discipline, or learning about the Bible. If you are found doing something wrong, somehow paying a fine of no less than $200.00 to $500.00 or more won't actually do anything to rectify the problem, yet it just helps the cult spread more hate speech.

I do want to add one interesting thing here - that if you want to actually attend church there, it will cost you $75.00 and book 2 years in advance. Also, if you want more information, there is a 900 number you can call. They are complete loons, I tell you.

I am thankful to this cult for one thing - they advertise their stupidity over the public internet. I found them in a google search looking up wrestlers who have converted to Christianity. Instead I found an article referring to them all as homosexuals. I have one of their articles and my reply in my blog "My beef with Christianity."

So I have more important things to do here, like get ready to go to my job supporting the government they hate. I will leave you with some heavy sugared icing... They are selling salvation, literally. I couldn't believe it when I saw it either. Check out this page.

Reading the page, you can receive eternal security for $239.00. But wait, there's more. Jesus is only for those with good credit. Scroll to the bottom of the page to find this little addition to the $239.00 charge...

*The finance charge is mandatory so we know you are serious about God. We also cover salvation processing costs in adding you to our database of prospective tithers. Salvation Plan comes with a $10,000 "Activation Charge" (subject to credit approval).

So, salvation really costs $10,239.00. I'm sure this is only the beginning. So, if you don't have the money (or if you do), I have good news. Check out your local church for the actual free plan to salvation. You'll be glad you did, AND it will save you money. :)

This has to sum it up.
