Rigged Reality

Friday, July 15, 2016 in My Opinions and Rantings (Views: 1329)
There are a lot of shows on TV, and when this phenomenon of "Reality TV" hit, people were thinking how amazing this was. Real people, real situations. After all, some people lived through those on TV.

I play a bit of a different game when it comes to those shows. Honestly, for the sake of marketing, those shows are fixed so that ratings can be maximized. Shows like the "Amazing Race", you have your classic protagonist and antagonist. There's that one you want to see lose, and every week you're given hope it will happen, then it doesn't.

So, what about Masterchef for example? Well, they are saying that this year's winner will be featured on the Masterchef cruise. So, I think to myself, there are some cruise worthy people there, and at the same time, I wouldn't be stuck on a boat for a week with some. For example, that announcement was the death sentence to the nasly 20 year old whining kid, who seems to survive every week. Nobody will listen to him for a week.

I say to relax, enjoy, and take in the entertainment value these shows provide. I wouldn't say "let the best man/woman/team win. Maybe a lesson that can be learned from pro wrestling, that TV is predetermined. :)
