Windows 10 can't connect to a Remote Desktop Gateway, Part 2

Monday, November 7, 2016 in Technical Articles (Views: 1107)
When upgrading Server 2012 R2 Remote Desktop Gateway to Server 2016, the weirdest thing happened. Upon setting up the Remote Desktop Gateway, no authentication would work.

Strange enough? Well, one step further... The conditions:
- No matter what on a perfectly functioning Windows 10 "1607" client, the prompt kept coming back that the credentials were not accepted.
- This worked just fine on an Android running the RD Client app.

Since the phone was working, and the screen was incredibly small, I knew the gateway was fine.

Yet another registry hack to fix this:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\LmCompatibilityLevel

I found setting this to a value of 3 solved the issue (4 or 5 seemed to have worked as well).

Another annoyance conquered?
