LAPS and PowerShell: Bomb in 1607

Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in Technical Articles (Views: 1582)
Looks like another Anniversary Update gone bad, just as the Windows 10 Anniversary Update was deemed "Current Branch for Business".

When the Find-AdmPwdExtendedRights cmdlet is run, the following error shows up:
Find-AdmPwdExtendedRights : The path is not of a legal form.

This was my command: Find-AdmPwdExtendedRights -Identity "OU=Workstations,OU=Production,DC=domain,DC=local"

This also holds true for the Set-AdmPwdReadPasswordPermission cmdlet.

Running this on a Windows 8.1 or 10 v1511 workstation removed these errors with the same cmdlet and parameters.

I'm sure a fix is in the works, but in case there isn't when you read it, hope this helps someone else.
