Configuring WSUS with PowerShell

Thursday, May 4, 2017 in Powershell (Views: 794)
Another quick little blog on how to configure WSUS using PowerShell. In my example, I am simply going to configure the property "Download Update files to this server only when updates are approved". Hopefully this will be your start to server config.

Here is the quick PowerShell:
$wsus = Get-WSUSServer
$wsusConfig = $wsus.GetConfiguration()
$wsusConfig.DownloadUpdateBinariesAsNeeded = $True
$wsusConfig.Save()

Try it yourself, set it to $False and see the option change in the console, and back to True. You can configure about every aspect of WSUS via script, so there is plenty you can do to verify and insure your settings are always correct.
